"Lex Luna" is the debut CD of the small-size brass band LIP LAB of versatile trumpet player Thomas Heberer. It features compositions, influenced by modern jazz and improvisation music, that consists of elements which result from the instrumentation (marches, tango) as well as the likings of his fellow musicians (pop, Neue Musik). Thomas Heberer creates music for his ensemble that follows his intuition rather than abstract musical ideas. Moreover this is - after four solo CDs, several productions with his duo partner Dieter Manderscheid (JHM 38 / 118 / 151) and roundabout fifty releases as sideman - Thomas Heberer's premiere as leader of a band project.
