He is the band's spiritus rector, composer, arranger and saxofonist: Uli Kempendorff is an untiring searcher in most different musical genres. For his quartet he takes to the traditional roots of jazz as well as to using elements of rock and improvised music. Listening closely even a melody of Hanns Eisler might be sneaking just round the corner. The album "Louise" features varied contemporary improvisation music, played by a band being in constant musical dialogue.
