Soundscapes for string quartet: that’s how Susanne Paul characterizes her new album “El Camino“. Paul - cellist and conductor of the here performing Move Quartet - achieves to develop a highly original vision of an improvising string ensemble. 250 years of history of string quartets influence the musical structures of this release the same way as jazz and rock tradition. The four musicians enrich the compositions of band leader Susanne Paul through their individual attitude as interpreters and - in really astonishing ways - with their extremely colourful improvisations.
